Liminal Labs’ Consecration Cinema provides an ecclesiastic space to revel in the ritual of immersive film under the heavens. Each night our mirrored projection system will present tales of cultish truth, false idolatry, and parables of seekers and freakers illuminated on our giant 50-foot ‘screen,’ viewings starting at sunset. Congregants can delve into the gnostic mysteries through the miracle of obscure shorts, freaky features, and animistic animation.
Liminals are true movie believers, rejecting orthodoxy in favor of an ecstatic polytheism that celebrates and illuminates the concepts of radical ritual and deviant desire. Films such as Black Narcissus, Dr. Strangelove, El Topo, The Devils of Loudon, The Golden Compass, The Haunted World of el Superbeasto, The Monkey King, The Lair of the White Worm, The Corpse Bride, Casper, Dune, and others will be accompanied by select experimental shorts that reflect the relativistic inclusivism at the core of BRC beliefs.
We invite burners and congregants to contribute to our collective enlightenment by choosing from a menu of possible projections or by suggesting titles for future inclusion. By opening up the curation process to everyone we create a library of films that reflects BRC’s divergent cultural diversity and celebrates our collective creativity. Om my!
